Samsung’s July 2026 Security Update Fixes 57 Vulnerabilities, Including 5 Critical Flaws
Samsung has published its July 2026 security maintenance release for Galaxy phones and tablets, addressing 57 vulnerabilities in total — 41 sourced from Google’s own Android security bulletin and 16 specific to Samsung’s own software layer.
What’s being fixed
Of the 57 fixes, five are rated critical severity and 42 are rated high severity. The update doesn’t add any new features — it’s a pure security maintenance release, meaning the priority for any Galaxy owner is simply installing it once it reaches their specific device.
Rollout status
The patch has already reached the Galaxy S26 series in a growing list of regions, including parts of Europe and India, and is expanding to mid-range devices like the Galaxy A56 in additional markets. As with any staged rollout, exactly when a given phone receives the update depends on its model, region, and carrier.
Why it matters
Monthly security patches are the least exciting but arguably most important software update any smartphone receives — they close real, sometimes actively-exploited holes that attackers use for anything from data theft to remote code execution.
